New Year’s Eve 2016 in Prague

New Year’s Eve 2016 in Prague

It’s that time of the year again! The lights, the smells, the snow… Well, the reality probably looks more like this: We are all busy planning the Christmas holidays, booking tickets home to see family & friends, rushing through overcrowded shopping malls and, of course, drinking too much mulled wine on all the Christmas parties. And then, there is always the same question: What to do on New Year’s Eve? But who actually has the time to properly think that one through?!

Don’t worry, dear readers, as every year, Sir Toby’s got you covered! All you have to do is book your ticket to Prague. Trust us with the rest. It’s going to be good. Read on for advice where to party, where to eat and what else there is to do…

A lot of you asked us already about this one: The official NYE firework takes place on January 1st, 18.00.
The fireworks will be launched from Letná Park and can be best watched from the bridges and embankments:

  • bridges (Legií, Čechův, Mánesův, Charles Bridge)
  • embankments (Smetanovo and Dvořákovo)
  • Petřín Hill
  • Letná Parks
  • Riegrovy sady Park
  • Vítkov Hill

Whatever you might choose to do – we hope it is going to be a great start of the new year for you! Oh, and did we mention that we still have a few beds available? Check out our NYE specials here.

First came the love for Kafka, his home town was soon to follow. As the famous writer put it: “Prague never lets you go. This dear little mother has sharp claws.” That’s why Katharina, originally from Germany, is staying around, even if she is still struggling with the local language and the lack of vowels in it.
